Jessica received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Towson University in 2002.  Upon graduating, Jessica was accepted into the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization.  After thirteen years of teaching in a traditional environment, Jessica decided to seek a teaching position in a school that would reflect her own philosophy of education.  Voyagers’ Community School presents the rich, dynamic learning environment focused on a progressive, constructivist approach that honors the holistic view of a complete child that Jessica so treasures.  Joining the Voyagers’ team in 2017 has been a coming home of sorts.

In June 2018, Jessica accepted a nomination to serve on the Board of Directors for a three-year term, as the Education Liaison.  In this esteemed position, Jessica works on behalf of her fellow cohorts and supports the continued growth and overall success of the school.  

In 2018, Jessica submitted a proposal to present at the annual ACT Conference, which was accepted.  She developed a workshop which would focus on the Reggio Emilia concept of “the third teacher,” which considers the classroom environment as a significant influence upon a child’s learning experience.

Jessica brings her passion for the outdoors and love of music and the arts to her classroom, and infuses it into her teaching to provide an enriching and culture rich experience for her students.  In the summer she enjoys performing in a community orchestra in which she plays the trombone.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.  The important thing is not to stop questioning.
